Chad Everett Mundt is a freelance bassist located in New Orleans, Louisiana. As a double bassist, Chad has performed with such notable jazz artists as Jeff Coffin, Jeff ‘Tain’ Watts, Jovino Santos Neto, and Heather & the Monkey Kings. As an electric bassist, he has appeared with acts such as Michael Giacchiano, the Meridian Symphony Orchestra, Jeri Sager, Darrian Douglas,  T-bone Pruitt, John Wooten, and in numerous stage productions, big bands, and cover bands. In 2009, Chad was a member of the Holland America Show Band on the M.S. Oosterdam, touring both the Mexican Riviera and the Mediterranean Sea.  He has performed at over twenty weddings in the last five years in various ensembles. He is currently playing bass with cover-trio “Lousiana Brew”, original southern-rock band “Ben Joseph & the Lay Lows”, vocal group “Jazzacadabra“, as well with other players.  He is a skilled multi-instrumentalist, and his talents have made him one of the most sought-out musicians in the area.

Chad holds a Bachelors of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of Southern Mississippi where he studied under the tutelage of saxophonist Larry Panella and bassist Dr. Marcos Machado.

In addition to his prolific work as a sideman, Chad enjoys finding opportunities to perform as a soloist or a bandleader.  He has relationships with some of the best musicians in town, and he can help you build relationships with them, too.

Chad is also an established private music instructor, and he has enjoyed teaching students for over a decade. He welcomes bassists, guitarists, vocalists, and other musicians of all ages. His studio can be found at the River Ridge School of Music in River Ridge, LA.
